These SDU REC B-Mesh Shoes from Veja have a low-cut silhouette, with a traditional lace up fastening and use sustainably sourced fabrics such as nautico coloured B-Mesh for the uppers, which is made from recycled plastic bottles, and wild Amazonian rubber. Vegan leather overlays flow around the front of the toes, around the back of the foot and edge the laces and the thin tongue has been cut from the same material, adorned with embossed Veja branding. On either side of the foot bright green rubber V shapes bring signature branding to the design and on the back of the heel bold ‘VEJA’ lettering has been printed in white on top of a black rubber tab.

Providing a high level of grip, the white and brown outsole is made from wild Amazonian rubber and features a dense curved line design. For each of these styles, three plastic bottles have been recycled and reused to create Veja’s own B-Mesh material which is working towards reducing post consumer waste and equals a durable, water-repellent fabric. Based in Paris, Veja was founded in 2003 by François-Ghislain Morillion and Sébastien Kopp who set out to redesign the state of the footwear industry with a transparent, ethical and sustainable system.
