This Gabbeh was handwoven by the Lori during the early 20th century. 

This stunner features a connected column of lively stepped diamonds rendered in a handsome navy. The solid navy column is unadorned and stands out against a backdrop containing big blocks of vibrant yellow, red and softer indigo that contain abstracted boteh or bird-like figures. The main border features a bright ivory ground and scrolling vinework which alternates with directional blossoming flowers along the sides and more compact rosettes on the top and bottom. The exceptional yellow in the center really elevates the composition and is not contained within the field as it very subtly but poignantly bleeds across the borders to the left and right. 

Densely woven with a full pile and a hefty handle. In very good condition, signs of wear consistent with age. An exceptional piece, very collectible.
